One of the privileges of building my media business was hanging out with remarkable people.

From the jungles of Borneo to the Chinese Dining Room at Buckingham Palace; the British Ambassador's residence in Washington DC to the red carpet at Cannes... I have been so lucky to meet remarkable entrepreneurs from across the world.

And I quickly realised that I loved hearing the stories of these amazing media pioneers.

They helped contextualise all the challenges I was facing.

They inspired me - and offered hope.

They made me feel less isolated, and part of a special group of people.

Having sold my company and bought a farm, I really missed this community of brilliant people.

I decided to devote a lot of my time to helping content entrepreneurs and leaders to build valuable businesses in the creator economy.

And, as I spoke to people still busily building their own content businesses, I realised that - like me - they found it particularly helpful to hear from people who had succeeded in the areas they wanted to win in.

They wanted to be part of that special group, to stand on the shoulders of giants.

So, a few months ago I realised it would be great to share some of my conversations with the wider creative community.

And THE BIG SWING podcast was born.

In every episode, I interview a pioneer in the world of content whom I respect and admire.

We discuss their remarkable journey, and they share their three BIG SWINGS - the three biggest decisions they took to succeed.

From TV to photography, video to music, these people have created remarkable work that has informed, entertained and moved billions of people around the world.

And now they are sharing the behind-the-scenes stories of their quests to create wonderful content.

For the first episode, I chose to speak with the remarkable Major Levison Wood.

As a pioneering explorer, author, photographer and television producer, Levison embodies the adventurous spirit needed to break through as a super successful media entrepreneur.

Levison explains his remarkable journey from his boyhood dreams of being an explorer, to becoming "Britain's best-loved adventurer".

And I found his stories of sacrifice and struggle really compelling.
